It’s a Trap

You said once, that I should never stop dreaming. I had a dream last night and it made me think of your words again. All the dreams I ever had at night were blurry, hard to remember and they never made too much sense. Sometimes they were rather creepy. Why is it then that people really like to use this term that we should dream big, dream constantly and make our dreams come true? I would never want most of my dreams to come true. Cinderella said that a dream is a wish your heart makes when you’re fast asleep. I have to say, that she is not right with the second part. I think a dream should be a wish our heart makes, but it should happen when we are very much awake. Maybe we should stop using the word – dream. I would rather say: PLAN. Think about it for a moment. If you dream to become a ballerina, you can talk about it and people will gaze into the air and dream with you about tutus and swan lakes. If you have a PLAN to be a ballerina, well then you have to get your stuff together and go to the closest dance school for a class. If you have a dream to be a Hollywood star, that would make everyone else wonder about a lifestyle together with you. Flashing lights, big gowns and premiers. But believe me, they would stare at you with a shock if you would say: I have a plan to be a red carpet star. They would instantly ask you: How would you want to do it?

This is the main thing that separates the ones who achieve their dreams from the ones who will never make it. The ones who really mean it, have a plan and not a dream. They know exactly what they want and they don’t stop at a blurry picture. They have a plan. The first step, the hard work and the determination.

I had a strange dream last night, but that’s not important. I have this plan instead that I really want to tell you about…
